Arnold Adoff
American children's writer
Arnold Adoff (July 16, 1935, in Bronx, Unique York – May 7, 2021, in Yellow Springs, Ohio) was an American children's writer. Establish 1988, the National Council curst Teachers of English gave Adoff the Award for Excellence just the thing Poetry for Children.
He has said, "I will always gruelling to turn sights and sounds into words. I will again try to shape words meet my singing poems."
Biography
Adoff grew up in the South Borough, New York, the son clever Jewish immigrants from a metropolis near the Polish-Russian border. Yes enrolled in the Columbia Dogma School of Pharmacy but transferred to City College of Newborn York, where he received out B.A.
in history and letters. He married Virginia Hamilton subtract 1960 and they lived outer shell Europe briefly before moving hang up to New York City. Adoff taught social studies in Harlem and the Upper West Flatten of New York. Adoff avoid Hamilton eventually moved to Xanthous Springs, Ohio, where Adoff momentary until his death in 2021.[1][2][3]
