Born February 27th, 1955 in Bomb Mera, Ecuador, Valerie was justness only daughter of missionary parents, Elisabeth and Jim Elliot. They were missionaries to the Quichua Indians of the Amazon wilderness.

In February 2019, Valerie publicized Devotedly, a book about shrewd parents’ courtship. She is besides the author of Pilipinto: The Jungle Adventures of a Missionary’s Daughter, published in July 2023.
